Reform Movement Showcase

Students will investigate historical reform movements in U.S. history and connect them to modern social issues. Diario de un viajero

Students imagine they are seasoned travelers who run a social media travel channel for teens. Students will complete this task individually. To create helpful content, they make a plan to fly to a destination, pack appropriately for the season and activities they want to do, navigate airports, and explore a new place. They choose the country based on what interests them and the time of year they will travel. As experienced travelers, they share practical "insider" tips about airports in both countries and how to avoid common mistakes when traveling. Finally, they present all of this information as a three-clip TikTok or Reels series designed to teach first-time travelers how to travel confidently and enjoy the cultural experience. Students also complete a short written reflection in English that asks them to examine assumptions they noticed, new learning that shaped their choices, and how understanding differences helped them promote travel to a place that is not like their own.
